Best friend becomes little sister
Posted by admin on October 31st, 2007 filed in ThankfulMy best friend Krysta is a true gem. She is a like a little sister to me, we met about 8 to 10 years ago. We kicked it off right away, she has a love for playing piano and cello. Krysta has one of the most tender hearts, very giving, always wondering and concerned about others welling being even when she is not doing so hot. She had surgery today, and asked me to be there. My husband and I lead Bible Study with her and her hubby.
I was running late so wasn’t able to see her before surgery, but I did pray for her. To be honest I was very worried and finding it hard to give my concern to Adonai, they moved her surgery up a week. The moving the surgery up is what worried me the most for her, because normally they don’t do that. I guess they needed to move it up, and that is great because after she heals up she won’t have the pain she was having. While waiting for her, her husband and I talked about his concerns and some video games.
My husband has recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure and was having a rash, which we couldn’t figure it out. Over the weekend Craig my husband told me his pulsed had been high and his blood pressure was still high. I was worried because I was starting to feel he was having a negative reaction against his medication, but I tried to convince myself that it was because he had a cold, and a migraine head ache. I wasn’t feeling well this weekend neither had a cold, and my birthday was unpleasant. Krysta and I normally get together once a week to write songs, and just have fun with music. This weekend we had to cancel.
Today after she was out of recovery she was more concerned about Craig and I. She was worried more about me forgetting my asthma inhaler then her own self. She was more worried about my husband and what was going on with him. I told her the truth, I figure don’t be honest or hide information from her would hurt her more in the long run then harm her health. I told her about Craig’s health problems, and that he was going to talk to his doctor and that we thought it was a allergic reaction to his meds.
Krysta husband offered to give me his bus card, so I could get home with out using cash. I didn’t take it from him, because I had planned for the day. Plus I wanted to show him a example, that I don’t believe many Christians have shown this couple.
Krysta is a great example of who Yeshua would have us be, she gentle in spirit, kind, compassionate, and she is a true friends. We have been through so much stuff together in the last several years and she stuck by my side even when no one else bothered to be there for me. She wasn’t a believer at the time when things got really bad in my life, but when all my “so-called” Christian friends walked out of my life she was there for me. She’d call, dropped by, and encouraged me to keep my faith when it was on rocky ground.
