Moshe and the Red Sea

Imagine coming out of Egypt, and having a army following you, with the red sea in front of you and mountains on three sides, and the army of Pharaoh’s blocking the path. Moshe had the people of Israel which he had to lead out of Egypt. The people would have been scared, and thinking they would all be soon attack or stuck in a bad position. Moshe cried out to Adonai. Adonai response was more of why are you crying out to me. Well, gee can’t you see what behind us and what ahead of us. It is amazing how Adonai will sometimes ask us question that are a easy given. This was not a hard question for Moshe to answer, any of us would have been able to tell the L-rd what was going on.

In Exodus 14:21 the angel of the L-rd went behind Moshe and Israel between Pharoah’s army.

Moshe was instructed to reach out his hand over the sea and that would part the sea. Moshe did as he was told, and it the sea parted. Moshe and Israel crossed over on land, and when they reach the other side the L-rd told Moshe to reach his hand out over the sea again, causing the sea to come down on the Egyptians. The water cover them and took them out to sea. This most of shown the People of Israel in that day in age that Adonai would take care of them and protect them and even though they do not see away out Adonai would make a way where it was impossible for man to make it.

Adonai countless times through out the Torah and the Bible has shown his provision to his people. After Adonai parted the Red Sea and drowned Pharoah’s army the people fear Adonai and believe in him and Moshe. I find it interesting that they feared him and feared him when he wanted to give them the Torah which Moshe had to do.

Adonai wanted a relationship with Israel, just the same as wanting a relationship with those of use who believe in Yeshua, but we need to be willing to listen. We need to be willing to allow Him to show us what he wants, like he done with Moshe and so many of his other people. Moshe a very good intercessor, but he had to be trained of Adonai for 40 years in the desert before he was able to lead Israel to their promise land.

I believe the Parting of the Red Sea is a foreshadowing of what will happen in the last days, when Adonai comes to judge the earth. Those who are not for Adonai will not be with him, they will be like Pharoah’s army swept away.
