Prayer and the effects of sin

Does Sin make it hard to go to G-d and fellowship with him? Sometimes we have sin in our lives and feel we cannot go to G-d because we must first fix the problems we have, and then we can go to G-d. G-d already knows what we have done, he sees everything so us waiting until we fix our problems is not needed because G-d already knows what we have done and it is not new information to Him. We need to go to him and repent; repenting is more then just saying I am sorry G-d. It is turning away from the action to decide, no longer do whatever the sin is.

Are we afraid of the Punishment  G-d may have for us if we go to him after we have committed a sin? Will he change how he was with many before us because of what we have done? Yes, we now have Yeshua (Jesus) and he paid the price, but that does not mean we aught to continue on sinning or not listening to G-d’s well for our lives. Not listening to G-d grieves and hurts Him, because what he instructs us to do is always for our own Good.  G-d has shown us his compassion with David, David had eyes for someone else wife and eventually ended up killing her husband so he could take her as his wife.

2 Samuel 11:26

26 When Uriah’s wife heard that her husband was dead, she mourned for him. 27 After the time of mourning was over, David had her brought to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing David had done displeased the LORD.

Even though David had displeased the L-rd, he was still called a man after G-d’s heart. David sinned against G-d because G-d had told us not to covet another man’s wife. David not only coveted after this woman but he murdered her husband. He murdered the person who supplied for her, and took care of her. After she had mourned over her husband death David took her as his wife. David broke 2 of G-d’s commandments 1 do not covet your neighbors wife, and 2 Do not Murder.

David eventually had to repent of his action, he would have had to realize what he had done was wrong, and did not please G-d. I know we all want G-d to be pleased with us, so I can just imagine how David Felt. I can’t go to G-d, I am unclean, and I have done wrong. But G-d wanted David and G-d still had David Fulfill his purpose.

 James 5:13

Is any one in Trouble? He should pray. Is someone feeling good? He should sing praise.

James 5:16

Therefore, openly acknowledge your sin to one another and pray for each other, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

The L-rd wants us to repent; he wants us to pray for one another.

Roman 6:1

So then we are to say, “Let’s keep on sinning, so that there can be more grace? Heaven Forbid! How can we, who have died to sin still, live in it? Do you know that those of us who have been immersed into the Messiah Yeshua have been immersed into his death?

Sin can cause our prayer to become unheard it causes us to pull away from G-d. I know from personal experience that when I have sinned the last person I want to go to is my Messiah, I don’t want to have to go to him knowing that my sin has brought him pain and suffering. Sometimes I have avoided talking to G-d because of sin and not wanting to deal with it. It is easier to deal with our sin so that we can have a deeper and more meaningful relationship with G-d.
