Joseph and dreams

Jacob loved his son Joseph more then any of his other sons. Joseph was the youngest of Jacob’s sons. Jacob loved Joseph most because he was born to them in Jacobs old age. Growing up Joseph had a lot of favor from his Father, he was given special gifts like his coat of many colors.

Joseph was a dream this would get him into trouble with his brothers, and eventually lead him to being sold into slavery in Egypt. His bothers where going to kill him till one of the older ones said no, and suggested selling him into slavery. They took Joseph coat and killed a animal and put blood on the coat and tore up the coat. They went back home to their dad and told him, his youngest son was attacked by a wild animal. Jacob grieved. Sometime later Jacob had another son, and if anything were to happen to him this would bring Jacob to his grave.

Joseph stayed in Egypt, he was bought by a official and then when he refused to sleep with the guys wife the mans wife lied and Joseph ended up in jail. Joseph was innocent he did not do anything to her but flee, and leave his jack. While in jail Joseph interrupted a couple of prisoners dreams, two he interrupted for were the Pharaoh’s cup bearer and cook or something. One of them would die and the other would live. Joseph told the one who would live remember me and tell Pharaoh. Joseph was placed in charge of the other prisoners, could this have maybe been his training ground to be a leader to know how to lead and guide people in rough times.

In Genesis 40, the baker would be put to death while the cup bear would live. The cup bear did not remember Joseph for sometime, until Pharaoh had a dream of the 7 cows and shafts. The cup bear told Pharaoh about Joseph. This made Joseph Pharaohs right hand person, he was put in charge of food and everything.

I wonder what his living situations would have been like, what would his room look like I wonder. Did he sleep where the supplies would have been kept, or did he have his own place somewhere else. We know Joseph had servants, because he had asked them to leave when his brothers where there to get food. So he would have had people to cook and clean for him, he would have had his needs taken care of during the day.

We know he took an Egyptian wife, I wonder what their room would have been like. Did we maybe get some of our designs from them. Did they have draws similar to what we do today, I wonder if they had platform beds in those days. We know their coverings where probably made from animal skins.
