Obeying alarms

I have been to many different churches since I have found Yeshua. I have been under many different types of leaderships, and dealt with many things you would think aught to not been in a church. I came to know Yeshua when I was 15 just a few weeks shy of my 16th Birthday I even remember the day, thanks to the pastor who did the service that day. I was at that church for about 6 months, and ended up moving a lot before I moved in with Grandma so it gave me a chance to go to many different churches. I have always believed in G-d and wanted to do what he commanded. I think, I drove many pastor batty because I just didn’t get how G-d would tells us what to do and then change His made which he never did.

At many of the churches, leadership would allow people to stay at church who where unwilling to change and where doing harmful to other members or the children. The thing that really disturbed me is when Leadership knew about it but never did anything. It like a fire in the building and the alarm goes off but yet everyone ignores it until something bad happens. I am not saying the church should be closed off to everyone, but I believe they should guard and protect their congregation.

Since going to my church I have seen something very different. Our Elders and Rabbi won’t just anyone into membership or teaching, they are very protective of us. We have bylaws which are expected of those of us who are members and leadership has no problems in correcting. I am not saying we kick everyone out after the first time of messing up. There are things that they like us to do, we have to come to repentance, and sometimes get asked to not serve in any ministries for a while. This is a good practice, because it keeps the congregation safe from predators. When we have predators, leadership doesn’t just leave them their if they are unwilling to stop their behavior and repent. Sometimes people may be asked not to be their until they have received some Pastoral councilling to keep the church safe. Our Leadership does use alarm system monitoring to ensure everyone is safe there. I know this is not easy because sometimes wolves do come in ships clothing, sometimes people aren’t what they appear to be. I was talking to one of the ladies this week, about personality types. She was talking about how loving I was and how some people are hard to approach but I was easy. I was surprised because I tend to keep people at a arm length, I do not trust people. It takes me a while to really share, and let people know me. I am not extremely shy, but I can be shier in groups of people. One on one I am normally good. It took me about 2 years before I really started to allow people in. I have recently began sharing more of myself and not do things which drive people nuts. I am surprise how many people when I have shared I wrote songs, did not know I was writing songs, because I know I shared it with Rabbi and a couple of other people. I have been going their for almost 5 years. Grant it I haven’t been working on my music half as hard as I should.
