In all of the places where hospitality is a must it is at church. We as believers need to be mindful when we have first time visitors of those new comers. At my church we have a lunch after Saturday service, and we let our guest go first, for many reasons. We also have them set with our Rabbi and the elders this way if they have any question they can ask them.
One thing that has happened a lot at many church I have been including this one, is when we are all released from lunch sometimes we try to make our new comers feel welcomed, but don’t quite succeed because we want to share so much of our faith which can overwhelm the person.
Normally when I am with a new person, I try not to talk to them to much about everything in the Bible, but try to find out what area they live in, and how they found out about our services. I want to get to know them more, and make them feel welcome. Grant it if they ask questions I do answer them to the best of my ability or get a elder or Rabbi to help.
As a community we help each other out as much as possible when someone is moving many will show up to help. There are many who are welling to give of them time when people need help. I have been very blessed to be going to the church I have been going to lately.
A couple weeks ago we had one of our members tell us we could get out of debt by his financial plan, problem is we own no house so have no, mortgage lenders which the plan kind of calls for.
