Leaders

This morning the young man who gave our Torah commentary was talking about leadership. He is a teacher, and has recently been deployed. Kind of sad to see him go, I normally look forward to his sharing of what been read during the week. This week it was Deuteronomy where Moshe is getting leaders to help take his burden.
Did you know G-d gave a job descriptions, and before Moshe went to G-d his father-in-law encourage him to get some trust worthy men of the group to lead with him, because he was unable to carry all of their burden. Moshe father in law isn’t someone I would have thought as as a leader and to be honest I forgot about him encouraging Moshe to do this in Numbers.
In the New Testament Paul also encourages the church to get elders over the church. There are certain requirements they must meet.
When he did his lesson, he asked us to give him names of great leaders I believe… People listed of plenty politicians from the founding father or older one and one athlete. I was surprised to see how we didn’t think of anyone who was G-dly. In the bible when we thought of leaders we picked out G-dly people, people who where after his heart and well. We are all leaders even if we do not realize it. I know I am a leader, sometimes I hate it and wish people would take the lead. In class sometimes I am more of the first person to respond I wish that wasn’t the case but can’t be helped maybe. I know when I lead children worship those children are watching my example. The scary things is I am teaching them how to worship G-d, to me that just seems a little more scarer then teaching them. I guess I am maybe teaching them, but through music which is fun.
