Was Joseph the typical little brother

I don’t believe he was a typical little brother but in some ways he was. Growing up we do not have the wisdom we do as adult. When I was younger I didn’t know better then tell my sister stuff or go and tell my mom stuff she was doing wrong. My sister and I are very close in age 10 months to the day, so we were together a lot. We went to different schools, I think our teacher until Junior High were blessed. We would both tattle on each other and like getting the attention on the other one to simply just stay out of trouble.
So some of Joseph was probably the little brother deal, and some of it was a lack of wisdom but G-d had a plan and maybe this was the way G-d chose to let it play out. In Genesis 37: 2This is the account of Jacob. Joseph, a young man of seventeen, was tending the flocks with his brothers, the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives, and he brought their father a bad report about them.
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made a richly ornamented [a] robe for him. 4 When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.
Jacob outward favoritism of Joseph probably didn’t help his brother love him, it actually caused jealousy, resentment and hate. I think this should be a lesson to parents about not favoring one child over the other, because favoritism never bears healthy fruit.
Soon Joseph has a dream and shares it with his brothers, this didn’t help him any. He was even rebuked .
10 When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?” 11 His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.
Sometimes G-d gives us insight but that insight isn’t always supposed to be spoke about. Was Joseph intention to hurt his family, no not at all. He didn’t understand those dreams because he didn’t see the whole picture. Sometimes G-d will show the big picture but not how you have gotten there, this is what happened with Joseph.
Even through his dad would keep this in mind he would still be sold to slavery and his dad would think he was dead. G-d gave Joseph dreams and then interpretations of dreams, I bet that came in as handy as a capresso.
