Sabbath Part 4

In Luke 23: 56Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.
If Yeshua changed the Sabbath why are his followers resting on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandments. This shows me that Yeshua followers where still following the Sabbath.
In Acts 13: 13From Paphos, Paul and his companions sailed to Perga in Pamphylia, where John left them to return to Jerusalem. 14From Perga they went on to Pisidian Antioch. On the Sabbath they entered the synagogue and sat down. 15After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue rulers sent word to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have a message of encouragement for the people, please speak.”
16Standing up, Paul motioned with his hand and said: “Men of Israel and you Gentiles who worship God, listen to me! 17The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers; he made the people prosper during their stay in Egypt, with mighty power he led them out of that country, 18he endured their conduct[a] for about forty years in the desert, 19he overthrew seven nations in Canaan and gave their land to his people as their inheritance. 20All this took about 450 years.
This clearly states on the Sabbath they where in the Synagogue, so they must still be observing G-d’s laws about the Torah.
Acts 32: 42As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue, the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath. 43When the congregation was dismissed, many of the Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who talked with them and urged them to continue in the grace of God.
44On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. 45When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and talked abusively against what Paul was saying.
46Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. 47For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
” ‘I have made you[g] a light for the Gentiles,
that you[h] may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’[i]”
48When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.
This is showing that there where both Jewish and Gentile Believers in the Synagogue on the day of the Sabbath to Worship G-d, here again there is no word about changing the Sabbath to the first day of the week. I haven’t even gotten to part of what I want and this is getting long sorry, good thing I decided to break it up some to make it easier on my readers. So still, we are worshiping on the Sabbath.
In Acts 16:3 On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there. 14One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. 15When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.
The disciples where looking for a place to pray, but instead they found them selves ministering which is something G-d wants on his Sabbath. Yes Prayer is good but I think it important that once again it mentions the Sabbath.
In Colossian 2: 16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
The writer of Colossians didn’t want these believers to be made to feel bad because of the Sabbath or the New Moons, or festival services they celebrate. The gentiles of that time did not worship G-d, they worship false gods, and did not honor the same Sabbath the Jews or early believers would have followed. I do not believe the Gentiles celebrated the new moon unless the worship the moon goddess but now G-d had a specific service for every new moon. So this gentiles probably would have been harassed for worshiping G-d on different days then their gentile counterpart. That is why the writer is telling them do not be discourage. He is encouraging them to hold on to the Sabbath, which G-d gave them. So G-d here has a good diet supplements
for us and our faith. I think this is probably the verse I need to take heart to when it comes to my Christain friends who don’t like the fact I follow the Sabbaths.
