Doing good

What is right on the Sabbath, this is a question even asked in Yeshua day or before. If you read Jewish Talmuds and other sources, you will find there was a need to discuss what is okay on the Sabbath. In the Bible in what most Christian call New Testament Yeshua and a few other have talked about what is right to do on the Sabbath. Is it okay to work on the Sabbath, Nope because it’s a day set aside for G-d but is it okay to work on the Sabbath if it’s a good deed yes. I am not talking good deed where you get paid, but where your doing something for a brother or sister in the L-rd who needs help or your neighbor who doesn’t know Yeshua.
In some sources doing good on the Sabbath has to be life saving, a action that must be taken to preserve a person life, but Yeshua defined it a little differently. He healed a couple of men on the Sabbath which well lets face it they’re lives were not in danger of being lost. Considering some of them lived with their conditions for a very long time, so what’s an other day of living with it. Yeshua was questioned about this and pretty much answered back, with a What is good to do is okay on the Sabbath. So we have him telling us what behavior and actions are okay during the Sabbath. He doesn’t want use selling or trading on the Sabbath but if our neighbor needs food and we know it we aught to simply supply go and get them the food they need. Food is something for survival.
Yesterday, my husband brought this up. After church a young man found out I lift on my lights in the car. We tried to jump the car, and while we where working and trying to jump the car we found out the battery was close to five years old. Minnesota for anyone who lives in MN knows you can not have a battery that old in a seriously bitter cold winter like this pass winter. I believe we had 2 maybe 3 weeks worth of below 0 temps all day long, batteries do not last long in winter. So for new MN or Midwestern residence keep in mind if your battery is close to 2 or 3 years it might be wise to look at replacing it. My husband and I both try to replace the battery every 2 years just because we have found it better that way even with a 5 year battery life. But moving on. In the car, I told hubby something of well we better make date night short because we have lift dad home all day.
Hubby said he was glad we where able to help someone and he’d rather use that as part of our sabbath and date night then just going out. I agree with my hubby, I’d much rather be helping and fellowshipping with someone, because we need that too. Shoot look how many Christian books are out there which cover the importance of fellowshipping. As believers we need to be welling and ready to help our brother or sister no matter which day it is, or how well we know them.
