Leading
Posted by admin on May 2nd, 2009 filed in FaithI have came to figure out good leaders make good followers, they are willing to submit to those who are place over them. I have a personality that tends to take charge but at the same time, I know my place, and how to follow another leader, even if I feel they aren’t really a leader type person. I wouldn’t say I am the most easiest going person, but I try to be encouraging and easy to work with when I am dealing with people who are place in leadership over me.
I have noticed a few people who I know, like to lead but never want to follow even though someone else is clearly placed in charge by church leadership. They want to boss around everyone place in authority as long as they are not the Rabbi/Pastor or someone placed in similar leadership to them, or someone they feel should be in that place. Leadership is not walking over people or excuse the expression brown nosing those who you think aught to be in leadership. Gee I can behave well as long as it the Rabbi or what have you is not a good example of a leader. A leader is able to submit to even those they do not like if they are place in that position in life.
Sometimes I believe G-d allows certain things to happen to teach us a lesson, show us how to act and how to lead, especially when someone gets placed over use we think has no business being in leadership. It is easy to submit to those you want to be in leadership but harder to submit when you don’t like the person.
Sometimes when 2 leaders are pulling a team it can get confusing who should be followed and can really cause confusion and sometimes discourse between a team. It also leads to a group which isn’t exactly in unity and that’s never a good thing, kind of like if you have a LCD TV you want it’s pictures to be in unity. Unity in teams be it worship, prayer or anything ministry related it is important to have unity.
