Taking chances

Sometimes people don’t want to take chances and step out on something they feel G-d has called them to do. I know this from experience, shoot stepping out isn’t like buying some new contemporary furniture you can’t take it back if you fall flat on your face. However, taking a step of faith even if it doesn’t go as well as you want it to go then you. It is amazing how there are many talents in our congregations but getting people to step out and use their talents doesn’t happen. It seems they almost need to be appointed but appointing someone isn’t always the best thing. I think when people volunteer they are more likely to stay put with the ministry they joined. Telling people what to sometimes doesn’t work, but maybe it would help if they were encouraged.
