The donkey spoke
Posted by admin on June 26th, 2010 filed in FaithIn the old Testament G-d spoke through a donkey who saved his master. The prophet Balaam he was hired to speak evil or curses Israel because the kings were scared of Israel one more so then the other. G-d had told this prophet not speak anything He did not put in his mouth and he decided that being paid was more important. He got mad at the donkey and smacked him because he kept going off course. This donkey was brighter than him because he didn’t want to pass the Angel with a sword. I honestly can’t blame the donkey I do not think I want to meet that, and it seems the donkey had some form of love for his master. If I was the donkey I would probably want to leave the guy get beheaded after hitting me twice but his donkey was faithful to him.
After he had hit the donkey 3 times the donkey spoke to him in a voice.. Now I do not know about you but if my cat or dog where to start talking to me I would get very confused. I wouldn’t know how to respond and I am not sure I would stay there if a donkey was talking to me. Now I know donkey tend to be very stubborn animals but this donkey obey his owner. He was a good donkey. There are parralles in the story of the donkey and the store of what his kings said to him. Neither one of them died when the other wanted to kill them. G-d was showing mercy to him, and his donkey was show that G-d can use a animal if he wants to correct us.
A part of me wishes G-d would have used one of my pets when I lived with dad to tell him he had
Mesothelioma before the doctor did, maybe that would have gotten him to the doctor sooner. I cannot even begin to imagine what that prophet felt like when he was fleeing the country. I am pretty sure he couldn’t really go to Israel because he had to feel some shame in the fact that G-d had to force him to bless his people.
