Be Fair
Posted by admin on November 17th, 2010 filed in UncategorizedLast night my husband and I spend the evening with my upstairs neighbor, with dad. It was Dad’s casino night and we decided we would go out for dinner with her. She is a wonderful lady, I really enjoy her company, and she relates to me well even though is a little less then 20 years my senior. She has always a encouraging word, and she kind and compassionate. Our Friendship started out by me bumping into her car with dad van, when his van was not working correctly. I notified management and they contacted her. Well I told management please let her know my name and number, if there damage I will take care of it. My intention was to do the right thing, I didn’t see damage but the garage is dark, so I can not just assume. This was 2 years ago almost. She loves animals. Last night we where talking about how Christian children are not allowed to share there faith or pray in school, but yet if the school decided to take the children to a Muslim place of worship some how it is okay. If you not Christian or Jewish your faith can be shared in schools, or at work places. It is not okay to pray or old a bible study even if it is private, and the children do it on there own. My husband shared with us what happened in NY city, now had I been the parent of the children I would have been livid. Now when I have children I am not saying I would mind them learning about other people faith. I think this is important, if you learn a little bit about other people faith sometimes it helps you relate to them, and shows you maybe that person is not much different. Now if they where a young age and didn’t have a understanding of their parent faith, I wouldn’t want to being confused by some other religion.
Growing up as a kid with a mom form Germany who had a accent, it was hard because kids are mean. I would want to teach my children to love other people and accept them. My walk my faith differently then most. I share it with people when they get to know me and start asking me questions. This way I have trust and some kind of relationship with them. I have had the Christian faith shoved down my throat a few times, and it annoying. Don’t hand me a track and expect me to read it, get to know me form a relationship with me, Pray for me, but show me your faith. How do you make disciples out of people when you just hand them a track and then go on. G-d said make disciples not hand them a track, or smack them on the head with the Bible. To make a disciple you have to have a friendship, or a mentorship relationship with the person. I have talked to people who have gotten tracks many years ago and just know started coming to church. Many of them tell me they feel they missed something. Now I am not saying tracts do not play a role because they might for some people. Discipling people is like a
health care jobs for the soul and we need to do it with compassion. My friend has been asking some question some of the question are hard to answer, but at least she asking question. She is making a effort to know me and my husband better. This makes more of a impact on me then anything else. It just amazing that Christians or Jewish people are not allowed to share their faith openly but other religions are allowed to.
