Pleasant surprise
Posted by admin on December 27th, 2010 filed in Family updatesOn Saturday night my husband and I went out to a movie. We always try to keep our date nights on Saturday, so dad does not get confused. Well while we was driving to the movie theater my husband told me guess what dad said today. I mean, I couldn’t even guess what dad said, let me tell you why.
Dad when he first moved in did not like Jewish people said we was stingy, because he had a experience with a uncle who counted toilet paper and you could only use so much. Complained that this person had lot of money but didn’t share. He said some pretty hurtful things to me, and normally when I pretty much tell him to stuff it he does, and realizes he being unkind. Dad uses so much toilet paper here that we go through a roll a day in my bathroom, a roll used to last me almost a week. Yesterday my husband told me Dad has always used to much toilet paper and maybe this person had a influence on dad. Who knows if dad lived with him for any amount of time maybe its possible. I wish he stop using so much toilet paper.
Dad has been coming with us to services since he moved up here to the cities. He likes Rabbi and enjoys the people there. People have openly accepted and loved him, even at times when my husband and I were concerned with how he was speaking to people. Our congregation has shown dad a lot of love. Shoot the first time I went I felt at home and like I belonged there.
Dad told my hubby that he went for many years to his Lutheran church and never felt welcome or accepted, and that he didn’t learn much. He asked my husband what he’d have to do to become a member. Now dad is consider a vulnerable adult, which my husband brought up and we both figured no prompting was done, and his made a decision on his own.
Dad will never be able to play with a nintendo ds, it to complected but he can choose his own faith.
