The type of bush
Posted by admin on December 27th, 2010 filed in UncategorizedMoshe, met G-d in a burning bush. I think I would have probably responded the same way, wanting to look at it and investigate why that bush was burning but not on fire. G-d had told him to stop and take off his shoes because were he stood was holy. Our English translation says a bush, this description isn’t very clear to us. When I think of a bush, I lilac, or the pine bushes, not the bushes that would be in the area back then. If you look at the Hebrew word its a Thorny bush. Thorns symbolized how G-d was feeling with his people being treated poorly by there slave masters. His people didn’t get dereon or anything nice like that. G-d wanted to bring Israel out slavery and into worship him in spirit and and truth.
It seems G-d uses many things to show us stuff and with out having the knowledge sometimes the stories we have do not make much sense and we miss some of the story because we do not understand symbolism the way the early believer did.
