Community

I can say there been a theme in my life the last few weeks. Community in my homework assignment for reading, Rabbi sermons and conversations with friends. I know community is important, but I also know that some people don’t like community. At my congregation we don’t vote on anything, because the Rabbi and elders make decision. Let me tell you, I like this way of doing things because if someone wants to start a ministry they do not have to wait for a bunch of committee people to decide on it. If they want to start something they just have to talk to the Rabbi or elders and get a start if this is something G-d wants or leadership feels is good. Seems a lot faster to me.
Another nice thing about the way my congregation is ran, the leadership try to make sure we are a safe community. Okay I gave some of our members there beefs but you know I rather do it the way leadership wants because they have been at it a long time, and they know what works. Are they perfect no, but I have seen when they realize they are not in the right, they make it right and they teach. This to me is important, plus I have never seen them be mean or cruel or embarrassing to people. I am a very observant person, I watch Rabbi and I have learned some things, though watching him. Is he on a pedestal no, he a man he will fail sometimes.
Grant it there has been times I have seriously been annoyed but maybe he knows better then me on some subjects just like a work out trainer would know the fastest way to lose belly fat more then I would.
