your people

When the people of Israel decided to build a calf with G-ds name on it. G-d got a little displeased, to put it very lightly. I noticed something this week. When G-d told Moshie about what was happening, he called them Moshie’s people. I started thinking about this, because G-d had called them His people. So it made me say wait a minute how can that be, because they aren’t Moshies people, they are G-ds because he choose them. I asked my husband about it.
My husband pointed out to me, that when parents are unhappy with their children it often Your son or your daughter not ours son or daughter. G-d told us not to make any image of him, and we went ahead and did that. G-d didn’t want us worshiping in the way the pagans did, because it wasn’t good. G-d wanted our worship to be pure of him. He never required a human sacrifice, even when he asked Abraham to put Isaac on the alter he provided a Ram. Grant it Abraham did not know G-d would provide a Ram but Abraham knew G-d promise to him.
Maybe G-d was putting Moshie to a test, or showing Moshie something I do not know. But I think that would be more pleasant then a colon cleanser that works. Maybe G-d wanted Moshie to remind him of G-d’s attributes. I don’t know, I just found it interesting that G-d called Israel Moshie people when he was angered with them. Now let me make this clear, Israel is and will always be his people! G-d said that he would bless those that bless them and curse those that curse them. So I think i rather be on the side of blessing, even though I am apart of them.
